Hair
A Wedding Hairstyle should not change your image that your guests will not
recognize you, so choose carefully.
Healthy hair looks good so start with treatments early.
Colouring can add shine and warmth.
Highlights should be done 3 months before and again 1 week prior to your big day.
If you are choosing an upstyle for the day your hair should ideally be past your shoulders so no cutting or at least 6-8 months in advance.
Remember half an inch of cutting is a month’s growth.
Tiaras
Choosing a tiara, comb, flowers etc. is a very individual choice but bear in
mind of the different types, sizes and widths. At your trial run, this will be
needed for a style to be created around it. If you are not quite sure whether it
will suit your particular choice of wedding hairstyle ask to see if you can
borrow it for your trial.
Veils
There are different types of veils that you can wear:
So be aware at your trial run. Your tiara should be available and an idea of the type of veil you will be wearing.
Bridesmaids
If you are having bridesmaids, it is also important that you make them aware
of the required length of hair required if they are having a particular upstyle.
It is not always important that each bridesmaid have the same hairstyle, their
hairs may be finished off using hair accessories, combs or flowers.
Colouring
Hair Colouring or highlights sometimes help towards creating that healthy
wedding look. If you would like just a shine on your natural hair, you may
choose a colour similar to your own with a bit of warmth added.
Highlights come in many tones. Light and warm can be very stunning when mixed to give a defined look. Ensure that full head highlights are done well in advance so you may not build up too many roots. Then finally they should be done again one week prior to your wedding day.
Trials
One or Two trials may be required prior to your wedding. The first can be
done 5-6 months in advance; this will help and guide you in choosing your
hairstyle. The next needs to be done 4-5 weeks in advance of your wedding day
– your tiara must be available at this stage. Also when you are having a trial
try to wear a top similar to that of your Wedding dress, have your accessories
available ,so we can choose the right image for you.
Photos
At the trial I bring along a digital camera to ensure that we remember your
style on the day.
